A Corning Studio scholarship honors the late maestro Elio Quarisa

The Website for the Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass announces the formal launch of the Elio Quarisa Scholarship Fund.

The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass has established a scholarship fund named for the late Muranese glass master Elio Quarisa (1936 – 2010) who devoted his last years to teaching to younger glass students in the U.S. and around the world the traditional techniques that have been passed down for centuries. Quarisa, who traveled with his wife and traslator Adriana, taught his first class at the Corning Studio in February of 2002, the first of several teaching visits in which he shared  the Venetian tradition of glassworking.
